It was the end of a meeting last week when I first thought, I actually wonder how long I'll be here at BU. Since then it's quietly stayed at the back of my mind.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my job. I'm grateful for the people I work with, the income it provides, and the resume placeholder it's contributing. And I believe it's professional courtesy to at least stay a year. So I'll at least be here till Fall. But after that, I don't know....
In the mean time, these are what's making it difficult to not entertain the idea now...*hehe*
1. Let's be real, I love being at home. Haha.
2. I'd still love to create and facilitate Simplify My Teaching curriculum--and be my own boss.
3. If I could be my own boss--or at least have complete flexibility--there's so many things I'd like to do. Just this year, this is on my wish list:
- Babysit when needed
- Attend professional conference
- Meet Baby Burnett and help Ry
- Check up on Cam's decorative efforts
- Summer family history trip to Pennsylvania for Grampa Charles
- Summer volunteer trip to teach English at a refugee camp in Jordan
- Visit Egypt and Jerusalem while I'm there
- Guided tour of NYC from Honwai in August
- LA Dodgers and SLC tour with 기연언니 in September
Like I said, my non-academic work schedule no longer allows for such scheduling flexibilities. Not to mention my non-academic work's modest income. Haha.
But who's to say one can't dream right???
To a future of financial freedom and scheduling flexibility!
If not at BU.. where would you go? Also, I wanna come!!
