I spend a lot of time trying to cultivate a surrounding space of peace in my life. This has included everything from an orderly home, to uplifting environments, to the company I keep.
Something I'm learning is not only the "better" way, but really the "essential" way.
I'm finding the older I get, the harder it is to control said circumstances (the scriptural prophesies of the Adversary's efforts in the last days manifesting itself in disheartening proportions does not help).
My finances, work relationships, the crime drama trend in Korean television, BYU student coming out in his commencement speech, being desensitized to the most recent CO school shooting, not knowing if/where my professional contributions can/will take me, etc.
And yet, we have been promised peace, joy and the ability to come off conquerors...!
So how?
Inner peace.
Instead of working to build my outer circumstances (be it physical spaces, state of body/mind, or social statuses) to provide peace, I need to refocus my efforts to cultivate inner peace.
