Sooooooo true! (More BU adjuncting coursework results:)
"When combined, that makes your personality type INFJ. A detailed description of this personality type is below."
(See below-below.)
I think I love these so much because it explains me in a nut shell (which can be quite the feat apparently. Haha.). I was actually thinking about how convenient it'd be for me to just give this to my date with the following notes and see if he thinks we're compatible. (It'd be promising from the get-go if he wasn't entirely overwhelmed or weirded out by that. Ha!)
INFJs are conscientious and value-driven. In some regards I need him to be compatible! I need him to be sensitive to how others feel, specifically manifested in the way he talks to them and about them. They seek meaning in relationships, ideas, and events, with an eye toward better understanding themselves and others. But I'd also appreciate if he's complementary. If he helps me to identify the overthinking I do when seeking meaning in everything around me. Using their intuitive skills, they develop a clear and confident vision, which they then set out to execute, aiming to better the lives of others. I need someone who can support this. I dream big! And I want someone who sees that as a strength. I'd appreciate it if he can talk me through my ideas and help me to see how to execute and where I need to compromise. But I hope he fosters my caliber of vision. Like their INTJ counterparts, INFJs regard problems as opportunities to design and implement creative solutions. I cannot be with a pessimist.
INFJs are quiet, private individuals who prefer to exercise their influence behind the scenes. I hope to find someone who can complement me. I hope to find someone who is much more comfortable being "the face" and is okay with me being the "behind the scenes." I can be the face when I have to, but I prefer not to. Although very independent, INFJs are intensely interested in the well-being of others. I hope to find someone who helps me see what is not in my control and supports me in my efforts to help others when it is. INFJs prefer one-on-one relationships to large groups. I hope he's okay with both. Although my preference is one-on-one, I enjoy socializing so I'd appreciate if he could take the lead in large groups. Sensitive and complex, they are adept at understanding complicated issues and driven to resolve differences in a cooperative and creative manner. When we need to implement problem-solving and conflict-resolution, he has to be cooperative. Otherwise I know myself: I'm going to be manipulated or bullied into doing something I don't feel comfortable with.
INFJs have a rich, vivid inner life, which they may be reluctant to share with those around them. It's true. But I can freely share it if I know it'll be embraced. Nevertheless, they are congenial in their interactions, and perceptive of the emotions of others. As mentioned, also looking for compatibility in this regard. Generally well-liked by their peers, they may often be considered close friends and confidants by most other types. However, they are guarded in expressing their own feelings, especially to new people, and so tend to establish close relationships slowly. --unless I'm in a committed relationship and then I'll bare all. INFJs tend to be easily hurt, though they may not reveal this except to their closest companions. INFJs may "silently withdraw as a way of setting limits", rather than expressing their wounded feelings—a behavior that may leave others confused and upset. Yes. Call it Puanani-pity heart, but I can hurt easily. I try to talk myself out of it. But I'd appreciate someone who is kind. Because although kindness doesn't obliterate hurt feelings, I'll feel much more confident revealing when I have been hurt. And because I am my mother's daughter, I'd appreciate someone who fosters open communication and helps me talk even when I don't want to.
INFJs tend to be sensitive, (amen) quiet leaders (amen) with a great depth of personality (....mmm...not sure about that one. What does that even mean....???). They are intricately and deeply woven, mysterious, and highly complex, sometimes puzzling even to themselves. Haha--hence this proposition of just passing this out to guys, you know, help them know what they're getting into! But then again, the depth at which I know myself--past, present, and future--and therefore what will be a more compatible match, that might be a filter in and of itself! Hahaha. They have an orderly view toward the world, but are internally arranged in a complex way that only they can understand. (Mian.) Abstract in communicating, they live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities. Maybe that can explain the crazy, haha. With a natural affinity for art, INFJs tend to be creative and easily inspired. LOVE creative outlets. Yet they may also do well in the sciences, aided by their intuition. Mmm, or not. Haha.
